Job description
We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to build and lead a new engineering team while staying deeply hands-on in development.
This is a player-coach role, you will spend approximately:
50% coding / working with AI agents
50% managing people, process, and delivery
Over time, leadership responsibilities will grow, but this role will remain technical and execution-focused. You will be actively involved in writing code, reviewing architecture, and leveraging AI agents to accelerate development.
You will report directly to leadership, build your team from scratch, and own hiring, technical direction, and delivery. As the company scales, this role has a clear growth path into a Head/VP of Engineering position.
What You'll Do (First 3–6 Months Impact)
- Build your team from the ground up — define roles, hire engineers, and establish culture and standards
- Plan and execute product development (SaaS, B2B/B2C applications) that directly drives revenue
- Introduce new engineering practices, workflows, and AI-driven development approaches
- Communicate directly with clients (meetings, demos, updates)
- Ship production code alongside your team (Python backend, React + TypeScript frontend/ NodeJs/ MERN)
- Partner with leadership and product teams to translate complex ideas into clear engineering execution
What You'll Own (Beyond 12 Months)
- Scale your team and processes to support high-growth systems and increasing product demand
- Own product domains end-to-end, including technical and product decisions
- Develop engineers through mentorship, feedback, and career growth planning
- Define engineering culture, standards, and developer experience
- Lead adoption of AI agents and automation across the organization
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and TypeScript (React/Next.js)
- Proven ability to write production code, review PRs, and design scalable systems
- Experience building and scaling engineering teams (hiring, onboarding, culture building)
- Strong understanding of system design, architecture, and modern development practices
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
- Strong understanding of enterprise-level UI/UX and product development lifecycle
- Excellent communication skills, including client interaction and cross-team collaboration
- Experience with Agile, sprint planning, and team synchronization
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ownership-driven approach
- Passion for learning, innovation, and building high-performing teams
Preferred / Additional Experience
- Experience with AI/ML systems, LLMs, or Agentic Programming
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools, automation, or agent workflows
- Experience in startup or fast-paced environments
- Strong product thinking with focus on business impact and user experience
- Experience scaling teams (e.g., from 5 - 15+ engineers)

Compensation
Salary range: 80,000 - 100K BDT (based on experience and leadership capability)
